How Love Behaves – Part 6

Love does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7

We are supposed to love the truth more than anything. You might say, “But Brother Steve, I thought we were supposed to love Jesus more than anything.” That’s what I said. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. Jesus also said, “Thy word is truth”.

Any deception, any falseness, is acting just like our enemy. God cannot lie. Satan is the father of lies. Lying is one of the worse things any Christian could do.

Love is ready to believe the best of every person. Let’s don’t be quick to participate in gossip. Don’t believe everything you hear about someone. When we walk in love we won’t be involved in this sort of behavior.

Some people are concerned that if they walk in love they are walking in weakness. But love endures everything [without weakening]. Its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances. Now that sounds pretty strong to me!

As a child of God you have the Holy Spirit living in you. He is the third person of the Godhead. You have more power on the inside of you than you’ll ever be able to use in your whole lifetime. You are fully equipped to handle everything that comes across your path.

The love of God has been poured out into your spirit by the Holy Spirit. We, as Christians, all have God’s love in us. Are we accessing that love on a continual basis?
